USA Fencing is excited to continue to expand "College Conversations" with our 1st annual "Collegiate Fencing Educational Bootcamp" which will take place at this year's Summer Nationals in Columbus. There will be two seminars offered simultaneously, the Athlete Educational Bootcamp and the Parent Educational Seminar. 

Athlete Educational Bootcamp: (B130-B131) "Preparation for College Recruiting: How to Standout to College Coaches"

This seminar will provide tips and tricks on the following areas: 

• Live practice with NCAA coaches on questions they can expect and questions they should ask during recruit interviews or one-on-ones

• How to properly send recruiting emails to collegiate coaches and build a fencing resume

• How to collect, edit, and present video correctly to send to college coaches

Parent Educational Seminar: (B132) "Being an NCAA Parent: Supporting your Athlete Through Recruitment and Retention in College Fencing"

This seminar will approach the parent role in the recruiting process and beyond. Attendees will come away with knowledge of the following: 

• The benefits of being a college athlete 

• The college recruiting timeline and rules of recruiting 

• Athletic scholarships, merit-based scholarships, and financial aid

• How to design a tool to help with college selection
