Two Bikes runs on support from people like you. Are you a recreational or professional bike mechanic who would like to help us give bikes to underserved members of our Chattanooga community? Well, you've found your home.
Two Bikes donates one half of our fully refurbished bicycles to underserved community members. Each bike is completely refurbished and is ready to be used as a tool for sustainable transportation.
Here's how it works. Our professional mechanics "queue" bikes each week. This includes putting together a bin of all of the new partst the bike needs. Then our amazing volunteers go through our "Bicycle Refurbishment Worksheet". Once the bike is complete it is test ridden and reviewed by one amazing professonal bike mechanics on staff.
When the bike gets final approval, our nonprofit partner is contacted, letting them know that we have a bike ready to be donated.
Scheudling: We do not require individuals to work "shifts", although we apprecaite it if you let us know you're headed our way. Volunteers can drop in anytime during working hours (Wednesday-Saturday from 10-6).
Skills Required: We currently do not have the capacity to train volunteers. If you're not an experienced bike mechanic, that's okay! There are plenty of basic tasks that will still help us get the bike ready for donation.
Tools Required: We have a full bike shop of professional quality tools and do not require volunteers to bring their own tools.
