OUTCOME STATEMENT:
80% of learners will have increased knowledge by stating a practice change related to identifying and recognizing at least 1-2 core characteristics of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and best practices for inclusion and care in their nursing practice.
Needs Statement:
Current estimates suggest 1 in 44 individuals are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and are six times more likely to be hospitalized for behavioral health needs. Given the unique needs and common comorbidities in this population, understanding core characteristics of ASD and best practices for inclusion and care is critical.
1.0 NCPD Contact Hour will be provided upon attendance in its entirety and completion of the evaluation.
