Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered to help QWELL Community Foundation distribute more than 2,500 rainbow flags to households all over Greater Austin for Pride 2020!
With your help, we will expand this program for 2021!
- People who live all over the Austin area were excited to be given the means to show pride in their neighborhoods even though the Pride parade and festival had to be cancelled.
- Also, the zip code data this program generates is vital in telling QWELL where LGBTQIA+ people live in Greater Austin so we can plant future Austin Outpost community centers in locations that are convenient to you.
We learned a lot this first year of doing FreePrideFlag.com, including that we need your help to identify sponsors willing to offer pick-up events in all parts of Travis, Williamson, Bastrop, Hays, and Caldwell counties. Just like each Austin Outpost needs to be convenient for folks, so does picking up their rainbow flag!
If you know an LGBTQIA-affirming business in your neighborhood, please invite them to visit FreePrideFlag.com to sponsor our event EARLY!
About 1,000 people visited one of our sponsors to pick up their flags.
We expect even more people to participate in 2021!
92% of local LGBTQIA+ people say it is important to them that they spend their money at businesses that have their back. Sponsoring QWELL's FreePrideFlag.com program is a great way to help them find you!
-
Donate 100 or more flags if you would like recipients to pick up their flags at your business.
-
Sponsors receive recognition on social media and in the print booklet everyone gets with their flag.
Thank you again to our 2020 flag sponsors:
