Phyt Cares is the minority and woman-led 501c3 U.S. tax-exempt and 1101.01 Puerto Rico tax-exempt arm of Phyt Gym founded by Jonas Serrano and co-founded by Elana Margulies-Snyderman that educates youth and communities through fitness and supports young entrepreneurs in New York City, Puerto Rico and the U.S. (virtually) supported predominantly by alternative investment professionals and the Act 20/22/60 recipients in Puerto Rico.
In the New York City area, we are proud to partner with the following groups where we provide weekly fitness programs: Kool Kids Passaic (NJ), a Jewish community organization for youth with special needs; YAI, a non-profit for young adults with special needs; and Issac Newton Middle School in East Harlem where we prepare 8th graders for high school.
In Puerto Rico, some of our proud partners include El Gimnasio Boxeo La Perla where we sponsor/support athletes for competitions and donate equipment; El Complejo Correccional Bayamón for incarcerated women; Team SMC, a woman-owned fitness brand which empowers communities through boxing/self-defense and more; and Luquillo Surf Rescue, a youth surf charity. On the Island, Phyt Cares has also been instrumental in creating employment and empowering young entrepreneurs by giving them a platform to run and grow their businesses.
Since COVID-19, our mission has never been more urgent. We launched Virtual Phytness classes to empower youth and communities worldwide through fitness which are still going strong and wanted to thank women in finance in New York City for supporting this initiative. We have also empowered local first responders and opened our doors to them to seek refuge and relieve stress. Finally, we have partnered with testing clinics to provide COVID-19 testing to our communities to do our part to help in the fight against this pandemic.
Phyt Cares is extremely proud that all the money raised goes directly to the communities we serve since we don't have any full-time employees.
On behalf of Jonas, Elana and our entire Board of Directors, from the bottom of our hearts, we wanted to thank you for your support.
