The YMCA Needs You!
You may know I’m a big fan of the YMCA. Since moving downtown I’ve been a member of the TownLake branch where I am a regular face in group exercise classes. The instructors are wonderfully motivating, people are friendly, and the relaxed atmosphere is very “Austin.” Those fitness classes keep me healthy, happy, and sane. In fact, I love the YMCA so much I recently joined the Advisory Board.
My relationship with YMCA goes back 25 years! I took Neal to the TownLake branch for swimming lessons when he was a toddler and we had just moved into a house with a pool. He became a great and confident swimmer. Today, my branch teaches 1,000 children per year to swim and be safe in the water.
The YMCA strives to be accessible to all Austinites by keeping membership rates low and offering financial assistance to families who need it. The TownLake branch has 21,000 members and program participants and 4,000 of those receive financial help to participate in fitness programs, after school care, sports teams, camping, and more. In a town full of Tesla’s and swanky new restaurants, it’s important to remember that sometimes our neighbors need help. That’s where we come in.
The Annual Giving Campaign, Power Your Purpose, raises funds to make programs affordable to all who come to our branch. If you can, I would love you to join me in supporting the YMCA.

The Greater Austin YMCA provides nearly $2.5M in financial support annually to over 30,000 kids, teens, adults, seniors, and families in our community. The crucial funding raised during the Annual Giving Campaign makes that support possible, providing access to health and wellness that would not be available otherwise.
This campaign is a call to action, an opportunity for us to come together and generate positive change.Together, we can empower individuals, strengthen families, and nurture the potential of every community member.
Thank you for joining in this important work!
