The Gift explores the bonds that hold together an American family, the Cole’s, which is struggling to survive loss and dysfunction. Their struggle reaches a climax during a portentous Christmas Holiday. Can the Cole family survive the storm their lives have become? Can they overcome life obstacles some of which are self-constructed? Do they have the wisdom to accept the things they cannot change and the courage to change the things they can?
