This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your help to empower adults with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) by supporting Independent Identity, a unique nonprofit making a difference in the lives of individuals with higher support needs.  

At our September Gala, we raised an incredible $86,000 to support our mission—but we’re not done yet! With your help, we can reach our stretch goal of $100,000, which will fully fund program supplies for the upcoming year. These funds will provide:  
- Games and Toys for skill-building and fun activities  
- Cooking Materials for life skills development  
- Theme of the Week Supplies to inspire creativity and engagement  

Independent Identity is the only day program of its kind in Texas, dedicated to serving adults with autism and IDD who face barriers such as challenging behaviors or complex communication needs. Since opening nearly three years ago (April 18 marks our anniversary!), we’ve been a lifeline for families who previously had few or no options for their loved ones after aging out of public school programs.  

Texas ranks 48th in the nation for quality of care for individuals with developmental disabilities and provides some of the lowest reimbursement rates in the country. To bridge the gap, we rely on donations from supporters like you.  

Your contributions help us continue to provide a high-quality, supportive environment where individuals can thrive, grow, and achieve greater independence. Together, we can ensure these vital programs remain accessible to those who need them most.
