GMHS Board Members are offering an action-packed Outer Banks offshore fishing charter for up to 6 people that will take you through the famous Oregon Inlet and out to the rich waters of the Atlantic Gulf Stream! The full day, offshore trip is available year-round, and depending on the season you'll fish for marlin, tuna, dolphin (mahi-mahi), and wahoo. The trip is approximately ten hours long and generally runs from 4:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. The Doghouse, a 61 ft. custom Carolina, Captained by Britton Shackelford, is one of the top boats for fishing off of North Carolina's Outer Banks. It was featured on National Geographic’s Wicked Tuna Outer Banks for six years! Your trip for up to 6 people, includes a tip for the mate. The winning bidder will be responsible for any additional people @ $200 per person. Bait and tackle, and ice is provided. | A pair of beautifully framed antique, hand-colored engravings of monkeys by George Edwards published in what is considered to be one of the most important and comprehensive of all English 18th century natural history works: 'A natural history of uncommon birds, and of some other rare and undescribed animals,' published in London -- 1750-1776 The first is a zoological study captioned: 'The Little Bush-tailed Monkey, from Surinam, drawn from life, by George Edwards, October 28, 1751. The second is: 'The St Jago monkey' (Green monkey) a species introduced to St Jago in the Cape Verde Islands and used as an eighteenth century pet. The animal is depicted on a patch of greenery holding two pieces of fruit. The plate is inscribed: 'Published according to Act of Parliament January the first AD1755 George.Edwards delin: et Sculp.' Distinctly 18th century in conception and style, Edwards’ primates are generally shown seated against a white background on a patch of ground, holding fruit or nuts, and gazing at the viewer. Despite the attention to scientific accuracy displayed in Edwards’ work, there is a whimsical quality to these depictions, imbued as they are with human-like facial expression, and even poses. p.s.
