Master of Ceremonies is Fox4 Meteorologist Andrew Shipley and Joseph Bonasia will give us an update on the Right to Clean Water initiative.

Plus hear from our new Executive Director Connie Ramos-Williams, and status of the Safe Waterways Act that Calusa Waterkeeper Emeritus John Cassani helped initiate.

$60 Sustaining

Contribute to continuing our water and air sampling programs. One test for fecal indicator bacteria (FIB) runs about $60, so our current program of 32 sites is nearly $2,000/month. We perform FIB testing every month of the year. Our ADAM research program runs approximately $4,000/month, deployed for up to 5 months of the year.

We've identified new technology to help advance our ADAM aerosolized toxin research and rapidly confirm the presence of cyanotoxins while in the field. Reaching this goal will cost ~ $8,250.

Contribute at a funding level that would help us reach our complex advocacy goals and move us into position to pursue legal actions aginst polluters. Help seed a CWK litigation fund!

$5,000 Game Changer

Help supercharge our efforts to implement an advanced source tracing program in chroncially polluted waters such as Manuel's Branch in Fort Myers. We're working on a exciting partnership with professors and students at FGCU which could innovate on new ways to identify sources of bacteria contamination and provide a blueprint to test other waters. An ideal testing regimen would cost ~ $40,000 in the first year.

$2,500 Innovator

Contributing at this level will support air quality monitoring, testing, research, data and advocacy. CWK developed and designed a novel device called ADAM (Aerosol Detector for Algae Monitoring), which is used to detect and identify aerosolized cyanotoxins from sampling sites in southwest Florida.

$1,000 Trailblazer

These funds will support Calusa Waterkeeper’s ongoing Ranger Training Program. CWK trains citizen scientists to collect water samples and advocate for clean water. Currently, there are 50 plus rangers throughout our region, and they are looking to expand this program.

Your funds help support advocacy and action in our fight for clean water. From Lake Okeechobee water releases to toxic pollution in neighborhood estuaries, we inform, educate, and advocate to protect and preserve our waterways.

These funds will support the high cost of lab equipment necessary for water quality testing and air quality monitoring each month throughout the year.
