Beats by Girlz invites you to the Virtual Music Tech Party on Thursday, December 10 from 5pm-7pm PT / 8pm-10pm ET!
Instead of the three parties we typically throw in NYC, LA and Boston, this year we’ve got one big virtual event that everyone can come to.
Even though 2020 has been a train wreck, we still have a lot to celebrate.
- Three of our community members just became Ableton Certified Trainers. Before that, there was only one woman in the Western Hemisphere. Congratulations Danielle Thwaites, Claire Lim and Kaite Watson!
- After 7 years of community work, BBG finally became a 501c3 NonProfit in the United States!!
- We are now operating in over 20 cities, across 8 countries and 4 continents, with new chapters opening up all over the world.
You’ll see performances from our BBG teaching artists who are also newly minted Ableton Certified Trainers, accompanied with visual artists to create a sensory experience with sound and technology. Our virtual party features:
- Daiza (Danielle Thwaites) – Producer, Singer-Songwriter and Programmer
- video artist Zeez Louize!
- dolltr!ck (Claire Lim) – Multi-instrumentalist, Singer-Songwriter, Producer and DJ
- Aimerie (Kaite Watson) – Producer and DJ
- video artist Callie Chapman
Join us from 8pm – 9pm EST for performances from our artists in tandem with our virtual silent auction and raffle, with items from top music tech developers and manufacturers.
Join us from 9pm – 10pm EST to continue the party with a DJ set by Aimerie. You don’t want to miss a chance to win some even more prizes from our wonderful partners and sponsors!
Register now to have fun and watch artists at the top of their game all while supporting a rad organization that needs you!
Our livestream will be broadcasted from betterunite across to Twitch, Facebook Live, YouTube and Instagram, simultaneously. Pick your platform and we’ll meet you there. Register to participate in our virtual silent auction and raffle, and tune in via betterunite.com/bbgparty2020.
Our silent auction and raffle are one of our major fundraising vehicles to help us reach our fundraising goals. We have many sponsors who donate items that are raffled off and in our silent auction, and we draw raffle prizes at the end of the broadcast. The silent auction will open Dec 4th - bidding will begin then and end at the conclusion of the event. Register to bid on our silent auction items via text and online on at betterunite.com/bbgparty2020. Raffle and auction items will be called at the end of the broadcast. You do not need to be present to win.

- Support regional groups of people as they mobilize and launch their own BBG chapters around the world
- Develop curriculum and content, both for our classrooms and the community at large
- Manage and lead special programs and partnerships which have a global reach
- Increase visibility and awareness of our work and other values aligned allies

Beats By Girlz is a non-traditional, creative and educational music technology curriculum, collective, and community template designed to empower girls, women, and gender expansive people to engage with music technology. We provide them with the guidance, access, tools and role-support to develop their interest (and ultimately their ability to pursue career opportunities) in music production, composition and engineering. We are working towards gender equity in a field where women are highly underrepresented and strive to help other groups mobilize and create similar change in their own communities.
