About The Veteran’s Closet

The Veterans Closet is a national organization headquartered in Alabama with the singular goal of providing life’s basic needs and resources to military veterans who struggle upon returning home. We hope to help each individual veteran overcome the obstacles that have prevented them from successfully integrating back into their chosen community.

Vision

Our vision is that each military veteran plagued by poverty, homelessness, addiction, or personal tragedy be given the opportunity and resources to overcome their struggles and become a fully functioning and productive citizen.

Mission

Our mission is to provide veterans with the resources they need, such as counseling, food, clothes, education, and emotional support, that will allow them to to rise above their struggles and successfully reintegrate into society.

How we do this

The Veteran’s Closet is located in the following communities Alabama, Michigan, Hawaii, Mississippi, Georgia and growing. The organization provides a range of services designed to support military veterans in their time of need, including:

Food disbursements

A Mobile Food Pantry

A Clothing Closet

Hero Bags/Box

Peer to Peer Support

Job Readiness training and support

Counseling resources for mental health and addiction

A Pet Pantry we recognize that veteran’s service animals and pets contribute significantly to the quality of veteran’s lives. This is an effort to address the needs of non-human family members.

“Vets in Care” where we provide services to veterans in nursing homes, groups homes, and shelters, including customized care packages which include things such as socks, gloves, hygiene kits, and snacks.

Won’t you help us help the brave men and women who fought for our country. We believe soldiers deserve to be reintegrated into society and be given the chance to provide for themselves and their families. Help us give them back their dignity, their self-esteem, and the ability to feel good about coming home. Donations can be made online or by mail at www.theveteranscloset.org
