Promote spay/neuter of cats in the community, to reduce the number of cats being impounded and killed at the shelter.
We opened our doors in the fall of 2014 with around 25 cats. Since opening, we have adopted out around 500 cats! We now are home to as many cats/kittens as 30 - 40 at a time.
One of our many success stories, Marmaduke!
Marmaduke came to be with us because of the health issues of his human. He was extremely obese and could only walk on the backs of his hind legs, not on his feet, a condition called neuropathy. We had a vet examine him and also discovered he had diabetes. We started him on insulin and a special diet. Slowly but surely he began to lose weight and could once again walk on his feet! Since he had to have insulin shots twice a day, we knew it would take a very special person to adopt him.
After almost a year with us, that special person arrived! She is an older woman who had lost her husband a while back and more recently, lost her cat. She fell in love with Marmaduke and had dealt with diabetes and insulin shots in the past. Marmaduke found his furever home!
