The Power of Music Online Silent Auction has something for everyone!
SYSO’s Power of Music Online Silent Auction is our largest fundraiser of the year. This community-gathering event brings together local musicians, artists, non-profits, and businesses around the celebration of music. This year, SYSO aims to raise $35,000 to support our wide range of programming throughout the Puget Sound region.
We depend on public support to keep our programs accessible for all students in our community. Your gifts, donations, and Fund-A-Need purchases during the auction allow SYSO to continue providing $200,000 annually in tuition assistance, helping guarantee no student misses their chance to find themself—and their community—through music.
Help ensure the next generation has access to life-changing music education. Supporting SYSO’s auction means supporting:
Help us continue an 80-year legacy of impactful orchestra music education in our region.
SYSO in the Schools is a partnership between Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and area public schools. Highly-qualified professional music coaches collaborate with teachers to increase access to public school instrumental music education for all students. $50 can help to cover the cost of 1 hour of SYSO in the Schools coaching for those schools that have limited music programs due to economic barriers.
SYSO's Walt Cole Library is a great resource for building the repertoire of our younger orchestras. $80 helps to purchase music that expands the music literacy of emerging young musicians!
For $125 you can provide rehearsal essentials such as musician chairs & music stands, replacement strings, chin and shoulder rests, rosin and method books to students in the Cadenza After School Orchestra Club, part of SYSO 's Musical Pathways Project and for SYSO's newest orchestra, MY Southeast. MY Southeast is a free orchestra program open to all students grades 6-12, with one or more years experience on violin, viola, cello, or bass to play it forward. With Southeast Seattle Community partners, we envision a community ensemble where music is a tool to inspire social change, social-emotional growth, and community engagement to support students of the vibrant Southeast community of Seattle.
SYSO's Seattle Conservatory of Music program provides chamber musicians the skills to convey, play and listen simultaneously in a collaborative effort with peers. $500 will provide a month's worth chamber coaching.
SYSO Summer Music is SYSO's annual music summer camp program for ages 7-14. This day camp mixes serious music making with lots of fun and is often the first youth orchestra experience for many students. $800 can support a scholarship for one student who might not otherwise be able to afford this enriching experience.
For $8,000 you can help cover the cost of SYSO community concerts in the 2023-24 season.
