The Biggest Little Farm chronicles the eight-year quest of John and Molly Chester as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren farmland and a dream to harvest in harmony with nature. Through dogged perseverance and embracing the opportunity provided by nature's conflicts, the Chesters unlock and uncover a biodiverse design for living that exists far beyond their farm, its seasons, and our wildest imagination. Featuring breathtaking cinematography, captivating animals, and an urgent message to heed Mother Nature’s call, The Biggest Little Farm provides us all a vital blueprint for better living and a healthier planet.

This is the perfect film for April Earth Month and helps bear witness to the importance of places like Paramount Ranch that allow space for wildlife and native plants to thrive.  Its destruction by the Woolsey Fire in November 2018 was just one of the many disasters that affected so much land and so many private homes in our area.

Our determination to see the restoration of Paramount Ranch is as much about its movie history as its landscape.  As the most visited site in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, Paramount Ranch offers several miles of gentle trails to novice hikers and the opportunity to see wildlife and flowers in this beautiful setting. Its exceptional landscape combined with its movie history is the reason for its placement on the National Register of Historic Places. 

Registration for the event starts at 6pm, but the Ranch will be open as usual for visitors wishing to experience its landscape.
