When we started in Ghana as an Orphanage home back in 2006, we dedicated our lives in service to children who had been abandoned by their families. Although some of these kids became orphans due to the loss of both parents to diseases, natural disaster or poverty, many others were found in horrible situations with heart-wrenching stories and experiences. We never gave up on them.
With the help of law enforcement and the local community, we are sometimes able to trace the parents of these abandoned children, but they usually shy away from their responsibilities because of harsh economic conditions or the excruciating poverty that makes it difficult for them to care for their children.
Consequently, we have executed major sensitization programs, while also doing our best to encourage and financially support financially handicapped families towards reducing the rate of abandoned children.
