In January 2019, 3 families began participating with full scholarships in our First Steps program. They were extra special to us because they were Early Head Start participants and all 3 children were soon turning three. In First Steps, parents come to school too and everyone learns and plays together in once-a-week classes. These 3 families had such a great time coming each week all through the snowy winter, cold spring and even throughout the summer. Then in September they all graduated from our program and began attending the Head Start preschool program. Our programs are co-located so this was such an easy transition for both the children and their parents. The parents already trusted that their children were in a safe place where learning and fun happened and where they were welcomed too. The children were familiar with the school and weren't as scared those first few weeks when so much was new to everyone. What a wonderful way to use the 100% scholarships we offer.

Any amount is so appreciated. Providing more than 230 scholarships is challenging but we did it last year and we hope to include even more this year. We know there are many families hoping to find a way to particiate in First Steps affordably through a scholarship.
