My name is Daniel Weyant, US Army Infantryman who served a tour in Iraq from 2005-2006.
After 4 years of service to my country I had a plan for a future career in Law Enforcement but do to a injury I sustained while in service it prevented me from achieving this objective. I now had the question on what I wanted to do the rest of my life. I did a few years in the medical field doing different jobs but I knew I wanted something more challenging and rewarding.
I always desired to get into the tech field but knowing what exactly I wanted to do was a challenge. Then by a off chance I was told about the Merivis Foundation and the program they offered to Veterans and their spouses. I signed up for cohort 5 this year and within a few months I was a certified Safeforce Adminstrator. I was also asked to represent Merivis at Dreamforce 2018 this past year which was a amazing experience. I can't tell you enough how this organization has changed my life and how much it means to me.
This is one of the few times in my life where a organization backs their words with action and is a true family to us Veterans. I'm very honoered to be part of the Merivis family with Hector, Kate and all the Board members are doing amazing things for us Veterans.
Merivis is a community that helps you lay the foundation for a future career and provide the community and support to help you make it a reality. Veterans get a lot of praise in society but Merivis is an organization that really turns words into actions that help you succeed.
We invite those that have been a part of Merivis as students, alumni, volunteers, coaches, sponsors, advocates and friends to join the Merivis fundraising team in spreading the word and raising funds to host additional programs in support our veterans. Our goal is to have 30 individuals raise $1,000 each before Veteran's Day and celebrate with us on Saturday, November 10th at the Accenture Memorial Walk benefitting Merivis.
Merivis Foundation supports veterans preparing for their next missions through training, mentorship and job readiness for Salesforce cloud technology positions. With a growing need for Salesforce certified professionals and an increasing number of underemployed veterans in the country, we bridge the gap to help veterans transition to civilian life and find great careers. Since we started in 2015, Merivis has impacted the lives of nearly 100 military veterans by supporting them in their transition to civilian careers. Through our Salesforce training programs, we've put them on the path to growing, in-demand technology roles and we couldn't have done it without every member of the Merivis community.
