Let's Bridge the Gap on November 18
Students caught in a cycle of poverty are less likely to make it to college, let alone graduate from college. One reason why is because their community is underrepresented in higher education, often making it a lonely experience with barriers to opportunity and achievement. Carpe Mundi knows opportunity gaps lead to achievement gaps.
We find this unacceptable.
For nine years, Carpe Mundi has worked to bridge those gaps by empowering students to take on the seemingly impossible. In a year that has often felt impossible, we’re taking a cue from our own guidebook, by taking on the seemingly impossible with a dauntless resolve. Instead of going dormant, Carpe Mundi is encouraged by the resilience of our alumni as well as the continued dedication of our staff, board, and community of supporters like yourself.
The climate of 2020 and its emphasis on equitable access presents the opportunity to expand our partnerships, ultimately reaching, supporting, and taking more low-income and first-generation college students greater distances.
There is an abundance of students budding with potential. So, our 2020 “Staycation Gala” is not simply our largest revenue stream of the year.
We see this event as the time to sow seeds, cultivating a wider, ever-supportive ecosystem for low-income and first-generation college students.
