The sixth annual Ability to Give Luncheon supports Connecting Point of Park Cities, an impactful day program for adults with disabilities.

PRESENTED BY

Connecting Point of Park Cities provides an impactful day program for adults with disabilities through educational, social, recreational and vocational experiences.  Since the doors opened in June 2014, CPPC has served many families who are grateful for this enriching, caring environment in which their loved ones are active participants. We depend on the generosity and partnership of volunteers, area businesses, individuals and families to provide the vital support needed to fund our program.

Annual support is raised at our Ability to Give Luncheon. The Connecting Point team is delighted to announce that Justin Gallegos will be this year’s honored guest at the sixth annual luncheon on April 12, 2019. Together we will learn to Run Your Race, no matter your ability!

We invite you to support Connecting Point through our underwriting opportunities or by sponsoring a table at our Ability to Give event. All proceeds directly benefit the Connecting Point of Park Cities program.

The world was introduced to Justin in 2018 when he became the first professional athlete with cerebral palsy to sign with Nike. The video where he is offered the Nike contract quickly went viral as the world cheered for Justin.  “I can be what people out there don’t think a disabled person can be. That spark motivates me. I am a true athlete. I am a runner and I can run fast.”

Justin enjoys setting goals and smashing them! He worked with Nike innovators to develop the Air Zoom Pegasus 35 FlyEase, a version of Nike’s popular Pegasus made for individuals with disabilities. Justin is currently a 20-year old junior at the University of Oregon studying journalism. He races the 1 mile in track and 8K in cross country on Oregon’s club team and half marathons for fun. Justin’s story of perseverance, hard work and dedication, together with his positive approach, inspires people wherever he goes.

Justin and his father, Brent, will be interviewed by Dale Hansen, WFAA Channel 8 weeknight sports anchor and host of the Sunday night Dale Hansen’s Sports Special. Hansen joined WFAA-TV in 1983 and has been enjoyed by North Texas for over 35 years. A recipient of a host of awards, Hansen was recently honored with the Radio Television Digital News Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Table sponsorships are expected to sell quickly, so please reserve your table today!
