Gift young leaders the power to use their voices for the community and be BRAVE!

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

BRAVE Young Leaders (BYL) Trainee Program is a 4.5-month program with weekly 90-120 minute in-person or virtual workshops and activities that is designed to ally with a group of dynamic young people as they:

  • Expand their leadership potential
  • Develop skills to engage and influence peers
  • Effect change through a social justice and racial equity lens.
  • Look deeply at both today's urgent issues and related historical moments, in order to form their own meaningful connections with movements addressing mental health, particularly marginalized communities and young people
  • Gain community service hours and/or internship credit (please contact your academic institution for credit requirements, which we can provide proper documentation to support).
  •  Social outlet for young people, ages 14-22 years old, to connect around personal, cultural, and racial consciousness.
  • Empower yourself by embracing social-emotional tools, prioritizing your mental health and well-being to foster resilience, self-awareness, and a more engaged and purposeful life.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • Equip BYLs with tools to build their confidence by sharpening their leadership, interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Engage in dialogue around personal cultural and social issues, and how those elements intersect with being B.R.A.V.E.
  • Provide a forum for BYLs to build a community of civic-oriented peers.
  • Destigmatize mental health, especially for marginalized communities, including young people. We will have at least once a month activities focusing on your mental health.
  • Provide a channel for BYLs to collaborate, design, implement, and execute tangible community-focused projects that will prepare them to be effective in the workforce.

TIME COMMITMENT AND COMPENSATION
