Women@Austin and Capital Factory are partnering on this multi-day intensive, where women entrepreneurs will come together to learn the nuts and bolts of fundraising from subject-matter experts and serial entrepreneurs in an intimate, judgement-free space.
Thank you to our sponsors Shearman & Sterling and Silicon Valley Bank for making this event possible.
The 4-part program includes:
Day 1: Setting the Stage: Fundraising Fundamentals and Intro to Storytelling
Develop confidence in the landscape, vocabulary and basic investment vehicles and concepts. Hear from founders first-hand on what makes a compelling pitch and how to tell a story that investors will listen to.
Day 2: Negotiations and Pitching: Preparing Founders Before They Meet With Investors
Hear from experienced founders about what type of questions to expect from investors, and how to answer them, followed by interactive “mock investor meetings” with real investors asking questions about your business.
Day 3: Investor Algebra for Founders: Understanding Equity & Control at Different Stages of Growth
Experts will demystify the cap table, explain the mechanics of convertible securities and talk valuation in a way that’s easy-to-understand, plus you’ll get the founder’s perspective on what to look out for when negotiating control.
Day 4: Mini-Demo Day + Closing Reception
Showcase your work at this VIP, invite-only reception with prominent investors and accelerators from the Central Texas area.
