For 23 years, SnoCo employees have come to together raise money and collect non-perishable food items to help feed our neighbors in need. Started by Valarie Davis-Bulter in 1999, March Against Hunger is has become a treasured tradition for Snohomish County Employees.
Did you know that without access to local food banks, 1 in 10 people in Washington would go hungry? Sadly, more than half of the individuals that utilize these essential community resources are children and seniors. According to a research brief from Children’s Healthwatch, food insecurity can damage children’s health and brain development years before they enter a classroom. By kindergarten, food-insecure children often are cognitively, emotionally, and physically behind their food-secure peers.
Your gift supports Hunger Prevention throughout Snohomish County. Your donation can change the trajectory of a child’s life.
In 2019, the County employees had their best year to date raising more than $60,000 for the food banks. If every Snohomish County employee made a gift of just $25, we could provide more than 35,000 meals for those who struggle to make ends meet.
Together we can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
