CTFRP coordinates large-scale reforestation projects on private and public lands in a seven-county area. These projects generate carbon credits which are traded to the City of Austin and to private companies in support of zero-carbon goals.
TreeFolks’ NeighborWoods program, in partnership with the City of Austin and Austin Energy, distributes over 6,000 free five-gallon trees annually to Austin residents, along with educational information for proper planting and care.
The CommuniTrees program coordinates community tree-planting efforts at schools, parks, and other public spaces in high-priority neighborhoods with support from more than 1,700 volunteers every year.
Caring for trees is as important as planting trees. TreeFolks provides tree care and watering for many of our planting sites at an annual cost of $500 for just one tree, which is sure to increase as the heat requires more frequent visits and more water.
Average commute, annually = 3.2 tons = $250
