The Swan Songs Serenade will be held on Sunday, October 29 at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin. We look forward to gathering each year to spread the word about Swan Songs, share concert stories, shine a light on the musicians, volunteers, staff and board who facilitate this work, and thank the generous Swan Songs donors whose financial support is instrumental in making musical last wishes possible for our recipients and their loved ones.
The event, chaired by Liz Land and Mafalda Tan and hosted by Judy Maggio, includes a cocktail reception, silent and live auction, seated dinner catered by Four Seasons Hotel Austin, and Austin’s own Jackie Venson live in concert.
The Chicago Sun-Times said Venson brings "formidable instrumental chops and a musical message of positivity," with a "singing voice that radiates warmth and spirit." Born and raised in Austin, Jackie is the perfect "next generation" artist to join the long list of iconic performers that have graced the Swan Songs Serenade stage. Visit www.jackievenson.com to learn more about Ms. Venson.
This is a Serenade not to be missed! Thank you for our support that enables Swan Songs to continue fulfiling musical last wishes.

ABOUT SWAN SONGS
Swan Songs fulfills musical last wishes by organizing private concerts for individuals with a terminal illness or nearing the end of life. At no cost to the family, a favorite style of music or regional musician is brought directly to the home or care facility. Committed to supporting live music in the community, Swan Songs compensates its musicians for each performance.
Swan Songs works with dozens of regional hospices and care facilities and has compensated over 600 musicians through the years. As the program evolved, it became apparent that there was a more compelling desire to request a certain style of music than a specific artist, although some regional artists have been requested by name (Guy Forsyth, Eliza Gilkyson, Ruthie Foster, Jimmy LaFave, Bob Schneider, Ray Benson, Carolyn Wonderland, Marcia Ball, The Flatlanders and more.)
Swan Songs works diligently to match the style of music requested with the appropriate musician(s). The diversity of requests over the years (opera, jazz, Mariachi, bluegrass, New Orleans jazz, French chansons...) is a testament to how deep an individual’s connection with music can be – based on a lifetime of memories, culture, heritage and geography. Whatever connects the recipient to those memories, their family, their joy – that is what Swan Songs brings.
