Join the Pennridge Community Relief Fund and Rams Pint House for a special fundraising event and learn about Perkasie's untold history from the Victorian days through the 1930s!
Author Scott Bomboy, who wrote and published "Perkasie: An American Hometown" last year, will talk about some of Perkasie Borough's most fascinating stories, most of which were not included in his book.
From a Perkasie resident's role in a sensational murder trial to the story of Gil Thompson (who owned the current Rams building), each story depicts a lost tale of triumph or tragedy. Including:
- Perkasie Borough's first photographer in 1887, in his own words and pictures
- The story of Thaddeus Fowler, who drew the 1893 Bird's Eye map of Perkasie
- Perkasie's proposed trolley line to Doylestown and who defeated the plan
- Marie Brown, Perkasie's female clothing factory owner
- Lizzie Johnson, Perkasie's town milliner
- Frank Afflerback's story of scandal and redemption
- A first-hand account of the WWI troop send-off in 1917
- Perkasie's successful model-ship builder and his mysterious past
The event benefits the Pennridge Community Relief Fund. Tickets are $30 and include a special "Perkasie: An American Hometown" calendar ($15.99 retail) with rare remastered photos of Victorian Perkasie, signed by the author. The Ram is donating snacks/sharable plates and there will be a cash bar.
Note: Attendance is limited to 35 guests.
