The Northeast Arkansas Children's Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that serves child victims of abuse and their families by providing a haven for interviewing and examining the child. Our mission is to provide a safe place for kids who may have been physically, emotionally, or sexually abused to tell their story. By bringing together all the professionals, under one roof, we avoid re-traumatizing children who are already suffering from pain, fear, or confusion. We serve all of Northeast Arkansas, free of charge, providing help for children in seven counties: Clay, Craighead, Greene, Lawrence, Mississippi, Poinsett, and Randolph.
Our goal is to not only help abuse victims heal, but also to prevent abuse in our community. We have faith that our community will partner with us to provide funds for education and prevention, forensic interviews, medical exams, and mental health services so that each child victim will receive the help they need to thrive.
The impact of the COVID-19 is being felt across the world, and especially for children who are at greater risk of maltreatment from spending more time at home with their perpetrators. The majority of child abuse and neglect reports come from educational personnel. Educators play a key role in protecting children, as they see children every day and are trained to detect and report child maltreatment.
