Dear Family and Friends, 

As follow-up to my previous email, I will emphasize by repetition: 

Never before has the YMCA of Austin been in as great a need for financial support as now. Covid has taken its toll with membership and resources. However, just as true, never before as our community's need for the Y been as great. Therefore, as a Townlake Y board member, I make this urgent plea for a contribution in whatever amount you can afford. 

As I have said before:

1)  The Y is much much more than a pretty gym and pool. I know of no other organization that does more overall for the community than the Y.

2) The dues Y members pay covers only the basics of operating the facilities. Everything else the Y does, including financial assistance, is paid for out of donated funds. 
3) The Y provides many,many programs to make our community a healthier, better place. To name a few: year round youth sports programs; Y after school child care; YMCA summer and holiday camps; YMCA Project Safe, a free program that has helped teach more than 5,000 area first-graders how to swim and be safe in and around water; YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program; Youth & Government; Livestrong; special programs for seniors; "Mend", an award winning program addressing youth obesity. There are many more.  

4)  The Y is inclusive. No one is ever turned away from membership or participation for lack of financial ability to pay dues or because of race or religion.  

5)  Every single dollar you donate goes to these programs-- not a penny toward administrative costs.

6) Please donate whatever you can. Any amount will help.
