FARM FEATURES: Nestled in the spruce trees and 80 feet above sea level, Rabbit Hill is an original Emily Muir designed cottage. Boasting a 180-degree view of Crocket Cove and western Penobscot Bay, the property is a birder’s delight. Watch osprey, eagles, woodpeckers, humming birds and warblers from the expansive decks. Sight the wind towers on Vinyl Haven, see lobster boats and schooners sail by, hike to Rabbit Island, collect shells on the beach, dig clams in the intertidal zone, and explore the 200-acre Crockett Cove Woods Preserve.   A certified organic farm and rabbitry, Rabbit Hill gardens are constructed between the granite ledges using the rabbits as an integral part of the farm’s soil building plan. This unique property and homestead is an oasis for wildlife in the middle of the forest.   POPOVERS & CIDER: Enjoy piping hot popovers served up with Deer Isle Cider Co sparkling cider and Rabbit Hill Farm-to-table sweet and savory offerings like Wild Blueberry Balsamic Jam, Carrot Ginger Marmalade, Bread & Butter Pickles, local artisan cheeses, Lobster Cheesecake, farm fruits and veggies, Spicy Beet Hummus, and Crockett Cove Clam Dip.

Please email jmccarty@islandheritagetrust.org for more information.    George Bayliss (b. 1931, Washington), studied at the University of Maryland, and received an MFA at Cranbrook. Although his education had a brief interruption with an enlistment in the Navy, throughout his education he managed to participate in several group exhibitions at Artist's Mart, the Society of Washington Artists, and the Washington Water Color Club, prior to joining the Jefferson Place. He also was awarded a scholarship by the Corcoran, where he also participated in the Corcoran Biennial and a 4 person exhibition in 1955, and won an award from the 11th Area Annual in 1956. After completion of his MFA, he returned to DC to work as an exhibits designer for the Smithsonian, assisting with planning for the Museum of History and Technology. It was a job he would hold for a year before leaving for Akron in the fall of 1957 to begin teaching at the Akron Art Institute: the same time he joined the Jefferson Place Gallery. He later moved to Flint, to teach at the Junior College, prior to his departure from the gallery in 1960. In later years he would teach at Parsons School of Design, the University of Michigan, and Temple University.

Glacial Erratic Fan Club T-shirt   T-shirt is made with linocut block print on a secondhand shirt, with a glow-in-the-dark feature! Hand-printed in Brooklin, Maine.    FAQ What is a glacial erratic? A big rock that make you wonder, “How did that get there?” Fun fact, it was left by a glacier long ago. You can find them on many IHT properties!    Why are the shirts all different colors and sizes? All shirts are upcycled from thrift stores or free boxes. So, sizing and shirt colors vary. Printmaker sizes in unsisex, which may differ from the original tag. Special for IHT auction: You can tell the printmaker what unisex size you want, and she'll make the shirt to order. You can also note color preferences and she will do her best to match that, but can guarantee the exact color of shirt.    Can I wash it? Yes! Glacial Erratic Fan Club T-shirts come pre-washed to ensure the ink sets in the shirt. For further care, machine wash cold, and air dry or tumble dry low is recommended.
