Hendrick Scholarship Foundation is raising funds to create a perpetual scholarship in honor of Nancy and Don Boyd. This scholarship will be awarded to PISD graduates with economic need and the proven ability to overcome adversity.
About Nancy and Don Boyd
As Director of Plano ISD Counseling and as PESH Head Counselor, Nancy saw a need to provide assistance to students coming from challenging circumstances to achieve a college degree. Her energy and enthusiasm to help these students led her to have a profound impact on the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation and it’s scholars. She formalized the support HSF would provide to students through the formation of the Student Success Committee. Her diligence in finding coaches, tutors and resources to help further academic, career and life skills was constant and the team she led gave the students the necessary support to achieve a college degree. Nancy teamed with coaches in making individual plans for each student’s journey. The staff and volunteers that have come behind Nancy in service have carried on her traditions in supporting students to break the poverty cycle through education.
Don had unwavering faith in God and was active in the First Baptist Church of Plano. He was a man of true integrity, and his true passion was his love for his family: Amy Brooks, son-in-law, Pat and son, Bruce. He devoted his life to providing a solid foundation, being a spiritual leader and witness to his family and friends. No doubt this couple came together to have an amazing impact on many lives.
We are forever grateful for the impact Nancy and Don have had on our community and the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation. We invite you to provide a contribution to this fund in recognition of their lives and work which will provide a perpetual opportunity for PISD Graduates to achieve success through education.
