Dear Friends - 

As many of you know I spent a lot of years coaching youth soccer at the Townlake YMCA. For me, coaching seemed like a good way to be with my kids and help reinforce an active lifestyle. But over time I realized it had grown into much more than that.

Those soccer teams and the families around them had become my community.

And now as I serve on the Townlake Y board, I've come to learn -- whether it's the many group exercise classes or the Friday Socials or pickup basketball games or Youth Sports -- every day the YMCA continues building community across all socio-economic backgrounds.

That's why I'm asking you to please join this year's Growing With Purpose campaign to help the Y grow our reach and impact to serve the needs of our neighbors.

With your support, we can provide scholarships for memberships, after school care for families, swim lessons for children, classes for active older adults, and continue to grow this vital resource for Austin.
