A Member-Led Community Empowering People with Mental Illness

At Fresh Start, we have been helping people with mental illness in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area for more than 20 years. To do this, we've partnered with our Community Mental Health system to serve people who rely on this public safety net for their mental health care.

With the support of community members like you, we have begun taking steps to impact even more lives. By becoming the first independently owned and operated Clubhouse in Michigan, Fresh Start will soon be able to open our doors to any adult with mental illness in Washtenaw County, regardless of what insurance they have or where they receive their clinical mental health services. This is a huge step for mental health in our community and across Michigan.

With your gift to Fresh Start you will be providing access to both virtual and in person programs, education support, vocational opportunities, and many other recovery resources. Finding the right mental health care can be a real struggle–about 38% of Michiganders who live with mental illness are unable to get care. Together with your help, we can change this.
