The First Steps Early Childhood Program, part of Ann Arbor Rec & Ed and AAPS, provides classes, camps and community for families with children from birth to kindergarten entry and beyond. To ensure all families can afford to participate, scholarships are needed and the First Steps PTO raises the funding to make that happen. This year we are delighted to announce a $1,000 match challenge for GivingTuesday. When you help us match this generous donor, we can provide more than 40 families with scholarship support. In 2024 First Steps gave $14,000 in scholarships on behalf of the more than 2,500 children that participated. Please help the First Steps PTO provide even more scholarship funding in 2025 by making a donation today.

Did you know, while First Steps Early Childhood is part of Community Rec & Ed and Ann Arbor Public Schools, they receive no funding from AAPS? In fact, Community Education pays AAPS to use their facilities. The fees for First Steps classes must cover all expenses and that means it's not easy to provide scholarships. That's where the First Steps PTO comes in. We're a group of dedicated volunteers passionate about the First Steps community.
