This project was first envisioned by community activists from the East Feast Coalition, who recognized the power of community members connecting, growing, and celebrating. Now, it is a source of nature, community, and food for all of Austin to enjoy and the first food forest on public land in the southwest.
The food forest concept is ancient, drawing on indigenous practices of caring for the land and people. Our team of permaculture designers and landscape architects is helping us incorporate these old concepts to restore health to the soil and create abundance over time. The Festival Beach Food Forest is an essential additional layer to sustainable food production in Austin.
In our first annual winter fundraiser, we invite you to learn more about the Food Forest and support our work!
Any amount will help keep our community project growing and thriving next Spring!
