#GivingTuesday is here!
Becuase of YOU, last year's Giving Tuesday was a huge success! We raised over $15,000 allowing us to serve more seniors by enabling them to live independently, avoid social isolation, and age in place by providing free, volunteer-based transportation and other support services, including social gatherings and get-togethers. Thank you! Now...let's do it again!
Did you know in May of this year, the US Surgeon General released a new Surgeon General Advisory calling attention to the public health crisis of loneliness, isolation, and lack of connection in our country? U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy said, "Our relationships are a source of healing and well-being hiding in plain sight - one that can help us live healthier, more fulfilled and productive lives. Given the significant health consequences of loneliness and isolation, we must prioritze building social connection the same way we have prioritized other critical public health issues."
At Drive a Senior ATX, we are fully committed to addressing the devastating impact of social isolation, but we need your help! We have a rapidly aging population, and many of those older adults have little or no family to support them. We NEVER want to turn anyone away who is in need of our services - but without the help of our generous community, that may become a realtiy. With your help, we can realize our vision of reaching each and every senior in our community and bring them into the Drive a Senior ATX family.
As one client recently told us, "I've been around for 87 years, and while I've taken part in "giving back" many times, there has never been a more worthwhile and appreciated program than Drive a Senior. Thank you for making my life so much easier!"
We hear this often from our clients and we are so grateful to know that the services we provide make a profound impact on their lives. Your gift will go directly towards our service programs, and you too, will make a much-needed difference in the lives of those who need it most.
A $50 gift will provide a one-way ride for a client who needs specialized medical transportation. $100 gift for a round-trip.
A $75 gift will provide the needed fuel for our passenger van to transport 3 weekly groups of homebound seniors to the grocery store.
A $250 gift will help provide food for clients attending our special Games Day events helping our clients to connect with others.
