In the U.S., 16-24 year-old young adults are 3x more likely to be unemployed than the rest of the population and agrowing number lack workforce-ready skills, creating the largest gap in over 20 years. In Santa Clara,the youth unemployment rate is among the highest in the country at nearly 30 percent.

The Proof Is In No Family Time Harms Children:

There is a father and mother absence crisis in America.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 18.3 million children, 1 in 4, live without a biological, step, or adoptive father in the home. Consequently, there is a father factor in nearly all social ills facing America today.

The Solution: Family Night

Families who participate together in CityLab Professional Family Nights discover the power of curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving, building the foundation for life-long confidence in STEAMM Careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Music, and Math) learning.

Families play a critical role in children’s success in life.  In Family Night programs, families support their children by providing transportation, snacks, cheering at events, and more.  CityLab Professional is looking to expand the ways families engage together in our programs.
