More than 2,000 wheels, 4,000 feet of chain, and 6,000 hours of work later, The ReCycle Shop, a project of Bike Walk Wichita has donated over 1,000 bicycles back to our community.
While this seems like a monumental feat, the truly inspiring part is that we affected far more than 1,000 lives and there are still more in need. So we are celebrating the 1,000 bicycles and aiming beyond but we need your help to continue. We have made several raffle packages available and will auction off a fully custom ReCycle-built Cannondale SuperX Carbon Fiber Gravel bike to the highest bidder so please consider helping support our next adventure.
We are hosting Bikes and Bells: 1,000 Bikes and Beyond on December 19th at 5:30 in the ReCycle Shop at Bike Walk Wichita with an evening filled with the following.
- Celebrate the work and see how far the ReCycle workspace has developed
- Hear about our next steps and where we are building with our classes and community satellite projects
- Snacks, drinks, and the opportunity to meet our Coordinators and Staff who worked to make this possible.
- Christmas Ornament competition winners announced
- Winners of the raffle packages announced
- See the final winner of the Custom ReCycle-built Cannondale SuperX
We want to take a second to underscore the help from generous volunteers, donors, and partners such as the International Rescue Committee, Homeless Outreach Team, Open Door, His Helping Hands, and many more.
