Austin Bat Cave's Trivia for Cheaters
Join literary arts nonprofit Austin Bat Cave for a competitive fundraiser where it pays to cheat! In this team-based trivia match, it might take a bit more than book smarts to win: teams can also buy special “cheats” to get ahead! Cheating has never been so wholesome — all money spent on tickets and cheats will support ABC’s creative writing programs for kids!
All table sponsors will receive recognition at the event, in our newsletter, and in our social media. Plus, you'll get a special shout out in our next anthology of youth writing!
About Austin Bat Cave
Austin Bat Cave is a creative community. We believe in the power of words. Our writing programs empower students to find their voices and tell their stories.
Founded in 2007, ABC provides creative writing workshops for kids ages 6–18 and older adults ages 55+. Our workshops explore a variety of literary genres and skills, including poetry, fiction, journalism, college essay writing, zine-making, DIY publishing, therapeutic journaling, and more!
We strive to make our programs accessible for all students and prioritize partnerships with Title 1 schools and communities that have limited access to creative arts programming. With Austin’s rising housing costs and shifting demographics, we continue to adapt in order to serve communities with the greatest need. In the past four years, ABC has expanded its geographic reach to Del Valle, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Manor, and San Marcos to increase program equity and accessibility. We’ve also activated youth advocacy through op-ed writing programs, published over 150 students per year in our annual anthologies and workshop chapbooks, and launched an Intergenerational Storytelling program for LGBTQIA2+ youth and older adults.
With your support, we look forward to continuing this work in 2024 and amplifying the powerful stories that our students have to tell.
