| "Healing Hearts" by Kim McLaughlin and the child survivors of Nicole's Place! After Kim's 34 year carreer in education her creative pursuit of art leads her to a passion with endless possibilities. This work combines Kim's love and understanding of children with the healing nature of art. The idea for the graffiti hearts was inspired by a quote in the painting's underlayer. The trauma of the heart may scar with healing, but the healing brings strength and the ability to thrive. The girls of Nicole's Place embedded words in the canvas meaningful to their journey of healing. They are STRONG. They are UNBREAKABLE. They are ALIVE. |
