Welcome to the 18th Annual Tea Fundraiser and Virtual Auction!
The Tea Fundraiser looks a little different this year! The Fundraiser is taking place online and features a virtual silent auction.
Beginning on February 6th, 2021 at 9:00 am, a variety of silent auction items will be featured online for supporters to bid on. The auction will run throughout the week and end on February 14th at 10:00 pm. We invite you to view items and make your bids from the comfort of your home!
Your support of this, our primary fundraiser of the year, is more important than ever!
The COVID-19 Pandemic has made this past year unlike any other, creating many new challenges for victims and survivors of crime. The Stay-At-Home-Order earlier this year, in addition to shutdowns, continued closures, remote working, distance learning, have all increased the threat of danger and harm for many victims and families. Extended periods of isolation have heightened the safety risks for those living with abusers, as well as impeded their ability to access help. Because of the help and support we receive from community members like you, Someplace Safe has been able to provide free and confidential services for over 40 years. The proceeds from the 18th Annual Tea Fundriser will support the Someplace Safe Fergus Falls Advocacy Office; providing Safety, Options and Hope to victims and survivors of crime and abuse.
Participating in the Virtual Auction is easy!
- Click on the red "Auction" button on the right side of the screen to preview the featured items on the virtual auction page.
- Beginning at 9am on February 6th, you may bid on auction items by registering. To register (or pre-register if you like), simply click the "Regsiter to Bid" button at the top of the auction page.
- Enter your contact info and register your payment information in the fields provided.
- Please note: Registering your credit card will not charge your card at that time. Preauthorization of your credit card makes purchasing or checking out at your event easy and quick. By registering (or preauthorizing) your credit card at this step, you're giving Someplace Safe permission to charge your card at the conclusion of the virtual auction (Feb. 14th) for the items in which you are the highest bidder.
- Once bidding opens on February 9th, registered bidders may begin bidding on auction items. Bidders can opt to receive text message alerts on auction items they have bid on. Feel free to visit the virtual auction website frequently throughout the week to keep an eye on your bids and favorite auction items.
- Bidding closes at 10pm on February 14th. Your pre-authorized payment will automatically transact at the conclusion of the virtual fundraiser for any items in which you are the highest bidder.
- Someplace Safe staff will follow up with winners to arrange for transportation of auction item(s). A variety of limited contact options are available.

Someplace Safe is a nonprofit agency offering a myriad of services to victims and survivors of crime, families, and communities in a nine-county region in West Central Minnesota. Over 4,100 unduplicated local victims of crime were provided with services this past year through ten Advocacy Offices, five Parenting Time Centers, and two Thrift Stores located in Big Stone, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse, Wadena, and Wilkin Counties. Someplace Safe works to assist victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and exploitation, sex and labor trafficking, and other crimes (including stalking, elder abuse, identity theft, robbery, harassment, etc.), as they navigate the social, emotional, and economic impacts they face as victims on the path to becoming survivors.
