We are thrilled to be back for another night with our community to celebrate all of the accomplishments of RSA and the Foundation and to help raise funds for our new programs! This year we are raising funds to support the recently opened Gather + Grounds! An online silent auction will be running throughout the evening with prizes generously donated by our supporters, and can be bid on by all attending and those at home!
Gather + Grounds is a coffee shop open to the community and staffed by our team selling our bakery products. Adults with disabilities are employed there, are patrons alongside the local community, and attend wellness programming on site. Students from the Academy will also do job training rotations getting much needed experience in customer service and coffee prep. It will be a safe, non-judgmental zone that will promote healthy social experiences. The purpose is to immerse these adults into the community, giving their immense capabilities a platform to be appreciated by all.
As we embark on our first year open we need funding to build out the evening programming and keep it affordable for our students and clients. We have been so happy with the positive work and interactions we are witnessing at the coffee shop since we opened, and we are excited to bring more people and provide more programming to support the community. RSAF is determined to take a holistic approach to the health, education, and general wellness of our community of adults with disabilities and this venue is a major step forward in that effort.

Our student showcase will be an opportunity to witness the incredible work the RSA students have been doing all year, and the dinner will be a decadent event with some of Detroit’s finest chefs including Chef John and Chef Eric of Grey Ghost and Basan, Chef Nyles of Godfrey Hotel, Chef Christian of LCA, Chef Amber of Cacao Tree, Chef Les of Green Dot Stables, Chef Chris of Tiger Lily, Chef Hass of Drunken Rooster, Chef Omar of Saffron De Twah, Chef Anthony of SheWolf, and more.
