Here is your opportunity to enjoy some Made-In- West Virginia treasures or experience a visit to some interesting and unique communities in southern West Virginia while supporting the work of the National Coal Heritage Area.  The National Coal Heritage Area is one of 55 national heritage area designated by Congress because of the national significance of the story of the development of southern West Virginia. The mission of the National Coal Heritage Area is to preserve, protect, and interpret lands, structures, and communities associated with the coal mining heritage of southern West Virginia.  We do this by working with local groups in the development of community based tourism initiatives that honor the lives and work of generations of families and help to diversify the economy by helping to build the heritage tourism and outdoor recreation industries.
