Finding all the letters in BLANTONS is a rare feat.  Winning this includes a stand to display the toppers for your bar or desk as well.  This will be auctioned off in a fun and unique auction where anyone can win. Believe it or not, up until just a few years ago, it was relatively easy to buy a bottle of Blanton’s any time of the year. Fast forward to today, and you wouldn’t be faulted for thinking Blanton’s is the hardest bourbon to find in America. With each bottle adorned with a topper that displays an individual letter and a horse in a different race position. A bouquet of honey, vanilla, light bubble gum, and orange citrus peel opens things up. Lying gently beneath are hints of barrel char and toasted sugars that tussle with floral notes. Light cinnamon and baking spices top things off. The scents are nuanced and inviting, creating a satisfying opening to open the sip. he palate hits with an initial sweetness, housing notable flavors of light caramel, honey, muted vanilla, and brown sugar. Underlying the opening flavors are leather, charred oak, and a rye spice, which bubbles to the top. A crisp finish rounds out the sip with vanilla, caramel, leather, dry oak, rye spice, and light peppercorn. There’s a pleasing sweet heat that lingers once all the other flavors fade. https://www.breakingbourbon.com/review/blantons-original-single-barrel-bourbon-2021

Named after Master Distiller Emeritus Elmer T. Lee, this whiskey is hand selected and bottled to the taste and standards which were set forth by  Elmer T. Lee himself.  Perfectly balanced and rich, as declared by the man who knew how great bourbon should taste. The nose brings notes of clove, vanilla, and old leather. The flavor balances fruit, honey and vanilla with a light spiciness. A long and warm finish. “An elegant, complex whiskey. The flavors are nice and tight.” –Whisky Advocate

A reasonably priced, but hard to find bottle.  A great bottle and an opportunity to experience the Weller collection. The brand is named after William Larue Weller, a distiller who is credited by some as being the first to use wheat as the secondary grain in straight bourbon as opposed to the more commonly used rye.

Arguably the premier bottle at the event.  Hard to find and delicious. "This 13-year breaks the mold, as it is one of the oldest rye whiskeys available today. The maturity it has achieved while aging is quite obvious when you take the first sip. It’s a truly unique and rewarding rye whiskey experience." -Paul Pacult A soft nose of chestnuts, spice, vanilla and fruit. Features flavors of cocoa, vanilla, spice, and white pepper. A long, warm and complex finish with caramel and spice combined with dry oak.

A hard to find and sought after bottle. This year marks a special milestone as it is the 20t anniversary of the partnership between the Van Winkle family and Buffalo Trace Distillery.  Trusting Buffalo Trace to continue the family legacy started more than 125 years prior.  The Van Winkle line of whiskeys have won a multitude of awards through the years, including the 20-year-old receiving a double gold medal, best bourbon, best small batch bourbon at the 2018 New York International Spirits Competition and the 15-year-old taking home a Gold Medal at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.  Nose: Very sweet, with notes of honey, dulce de leche, caramel. Taste: Medium-bodied palate with dried fruit and nuts. Each sip finishes with a very long bold wave of floral honey, caramel, and toasted barrel flavors which counter the weight of the alcohol. Finish: An elegant balance between oak, grain, and maturation. https://www.breakingbourbon.com/bourbon-whiskey-press-releases/buffalo-trace-distillery-announces-annual-van-winkle-bourbon-release

Made by hand, E.H. Taylor Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey has been aged inside century old warehouses constructed by E.H. Taylor, Jr.  The barrels used for this American bourbon are evaluated and selected to create a perfect blend of distinctive character that is like no other. This Buffalo Trace Distillery bourbon is a true sipping bourbon that honors the uncompromising legacy of E.H. Taylor, Jr. Colonel E.H. The initially sweet flavors give way to hints of salted caramel, butterscotch and orange, which linger on the finish. Tastes of caramel corn sweetness, mingled with butterscotch and licorice. After establishing a number of distilleries, notably Buffalo Trace, Colonel E. H. Taylor is usually considered to be the “father” of the current bourbon industry. Aroma of oaky spices, figs and maple syrup. Notes of orange peel, dates, roasted nuts and tobacco lead to a sweet finish that is complemented by a hint of intense oak. As very limited release, this Single Barrel may be difficult to find. It will be packaged in a vintage label and canister, which are reminiscent of Taylor’s bottles nearly one hundred years ago.
