Brainstorming Session to discuss Online Education for Afghan Girls!
We welcom all our Afghanistan International Friends and Afghan Diaspora to join our meeting and contribute their experties and advice, since we believe together with your inputs we can go further to serve our people.
On March 23, 2022, when the new school year started in Afghanistan and Taliban had promised to reopen secondary schools and girls of grade 6 to 12 were on their ways to schools, Taliban took a U-turn and issued an on-the-spot decree to close the schools’ doors to the girls. Hopeless, helpless, and tearful, girls facing closed doors of their schools returned home.
The Educate to Graduate program was created in response to the Taliban, in March of 2022, placing a ban on the education of girls in 7th-12th grade. This ban put more than 2 million girls at home with no hope of completing their education or pursuing college. EOA stepped in and created online classes that will keep the girls on the path of graduating with a diploma and heading towards college, if they choose. Currently there are 120 girls enrolled in the first launch of classes, and EOA has received over 1,200 applications for this new year classes! The demand for education is great and Eagle Online Academy intends to meet the need head on.
