Buddy's Healing Paws started over the summer when our founder's dog, Whiskey, needed a complete hip replacement. This surgery was going to cost upwards of $10,000. At the time, she had no job and no real savings and had to turn to the animal-loving community for help. The outpouring amount of love and support she got was incredible but what inspired her the most were the stories that came with that support.

Many pet owners, like Rebecca, were either going through the same thing or had to go through it in the past. You can plan for vet visits and medications but what pet owners cannot plan for are the things that happen suddenly. Some pet owners were desperate to save their animals but had no financial means by which to do so. She knew something had to be done. This is when the concept of this charity was born.

The name came shortly after from the beloved dog of a very good friend of Rebecca's, Rick Worthy. His dog, Buddy had passed earlier in the year and was the perfect inspiration and pet to honor.
